when should i book my newborn photoshoot?
I recommend booking your newborn photoshoot as early as in your pregnancy as reasonable. I only book a limited number of babies per month- this allows me flexibility to accommodate all bookings, regardless of whether baby arrives early, late or right on time. These spots can fill quickly during busy periods. Given the unpredictability of newborns, I do sometimes have last minute sessions open up so don’t hesitate to get in touch to check!
what does the newborn session fee include?
Payment of your session fee confirms my availability for your baby’s arrival 3 weeks before & 3 weeks after your EDD. If you have not paid your booking fee- your session is not confirmed. It also includes:
Photographers travel to/from your home
2-3hrs of professionally styled photography in your home
Use of a range of hard/soft props- incl wraps, blankets, bonnets, outfits
Custom retouching/editing of images for online gallery
Password protected online gallery

how can i prepare for my in home photoshoot?
There is no specific prep required for your newborn photoshoot. I just need parking close to your home and a small space to work in- near a powerpoint. I will work to baby’s cues on the day, however, the aim is to have baby well fed for the start of the session (also known as “milk drunk”) . As i am moving baby around alot they may require top up feeds throughout the session.
what age should my baby be?
I photograph babies up to 4 weeks of age. Babies are best photographed between 5-12 days for a posed session. This is when they are still sleepy and we are most likely to get a variety of images & curled up shots. 2-4wk old babies can sometimes be a little more alert & less curly. Due to being a mobile service i only carry props & outfits for babies up to 4wks age. A lifestyle session is perfect for older babies.
what should we wear for our newborn session
I provide all wraps & outfits for your baby. You are welcome to provide some sentimental items for inclusion in some shots should you wish to. Neutral coloured clothing is best if you are being photographed. Avoid logos & busy patterns where possible.
where & when is the newborn session held?'
All newborn photography sessions are done in the comfort of your own home. I travel to homes within 30min drive of Penrith NSW 2750 (Blue Mountains, Hills District, Hawkesbury, Western Sydney). I require parking close to your front door & a small area to work in- close to a powerpoint. Due to the amount of gear I bring along, I am unable to book your session if you do not have designated parking nearby and/or more than a couple of stairs to access your property. Sessions take place weekdays at 9.30am. This allows enough time to capture a full gallery of your little one.
who can take part in my newborn photoshoot?
All packages include sibling & family photos. I recommend limiting sessions to siblings, parents & grandparents. I always encourage parents to be in some shots, but completely understand if you’d prefer not to be. I usually take the family shots towards the end of the session so you have plenty of time to get ready whilst i photograph baby.
what are your newborn photoshoot package prices?
Please click here to view package pricing. All packages are delivered digitally (high res jpg Adobe RGB colourspace) - so you can print as many copies as you like. I highly recommend using a professional print lab for best results.
Is there a minimum spend for newborn photoshoots?
No! You are not obliged to buy any of the packages, however it is most cost effective to do so. Individual images can be purchased for $75ea. Images in your online gallery are low res and watermarked- your final downloaded images are not.
are you vaccinated?
Yes! Your family’s safety is of utmost importance to me. I am up to date with all vaccinations. I have had the pertussis/whooping cough jab & get the yearly flu shot. I have received all required doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. If I am feeling unwell in the lead up to your session I will get in touch to discuss options. All wraps/blankets are washed/sanitised/sterilised before each session. I only photograph one baby per day to allow me time to ensure all items are thoroughly cleaned. I also have a current working with children check & am fully insured.
