a sneak peek behind the scenes!

As a mobile newborn photographer working in Western Sydney, The Blue Mountains & Hills District, i am somewhat limited in the number of props i can bring along to your session- the good news however is- this doesn’t mean you can’t have beautiful setups

The power of photoshop allows me to take gorgeous photographs of your baby & add them a variety of digital backdrops to give you a beautiful selection of images in your online newborn gallery.

I often have clients tell me during their session “i wondered how you did that!” so here is a little sneak peek at the before & after shots i have created for clients.

baby in parents hands

This is one of my favourite shots to do! It can be a little fiddly- as we have to have parent 1 sitting on the floor keeping baby nice & snug within their hands, parent 2 then leans in and places one arm on the left side. I snap the shot, then get parent 2 to move to the other side and do the same. In post production i then join the 2 images together to create a gorgeous image of baby in both parents hands.

newborn baby weigh scales

The scales image is perfect for birth announcements as it contains all the important details everyone wants to know. Baby needs to be photographed on a light coloured blanket to ensure seamless editing into the backdrop. You just need to let me know prior to your session if you’d like this one, and i can make sure i capture it on the day.

newborn with teddy

I only carry a few basic coloured rompers with me to my mobile in home sessions, however thanks to photoshop i can easily change the colour to suit your preferred colour scheme or digital backdrop. I just love photographing baby with these special mohair teddies i had made.

newborn baby heart love

Another example of a colour change to romper to suit the backdrop. Baby safe and sound in my beandbag & not really being squished into the bowl!

newborn baby photography

Often, when a baby is unsettled most of their session will be in wraps- to keep them feeling safe & secure. This is when these kinds of backdrops can really come in handy. Baby safely placed into my posing beanbag with some curls, a quick shot and we are done - i do the rest of the hard work back at my computer.

So there you have it- a little sneak peek into some before & afters so you can see baby is kept safe and secure on my posing beanbag for all shots. If i hadn’t told you these were shot in clients homes around Sydney you probably would have assumed they were a typical studio newborn photography session.
