Valkyrie- 9 days

Little Valkyrie was a last minute booking, i always try to squeeze in late bookings whenever i can. As baby’s arrival dates can vary so greatly from the EDD, i will sometimes have last minute availability if a booked baby is late to arrive- or comes weeks earlier!

Valkyrie was fairly settled and milk drunk at the beginning of her session so we were able to capture some gorgeous sleepy shots- she even gave us a few smiles. Once we’d got those shots we moved on to wrapped shots- these generally help baby fall into an even deeper sleep.

Once we’d captured her wrapped shots it was time to slowly start unwrapping her (and crossing our fingers she stayed asleep). I absolutely love capturing sleepy babies curled up on the wool curls- they’re such simple yet elegant shots.

Unfortunately we got a visit from the community nurses midway through Valkyrie’s shoot- which put a halt to things- and due to them needing to weight & measure her- woke her right up! I had mum give her a nice big feed and she settled again- she didn’t want to sleep but was happy & content.
